|
Smith Flow Control ('SFC') are the market leader in the design, manufacture and sale of mechanical key safety interlock systems for the international oil, gas, chemical processing and pipeline transportation industries.
These markets are enjoying unprecedented demand and are likely to remain buoyant for the foreseeable future.
SFC recently embarked on a strategy of market diversification through new product development. This has resulted in the launch of two new product lines in valve drive/management systems which are expected to underpin our demanding growth targets for the next three years.
Early indications of the commercial success of these new product lines are very encouraging and the company wishes to continue to leverage its strong brand reputation by developing further new concept / niche product lines to drive our growth and diversification ambitions. We are keen to grow our offering to our existing core markets and to open new market opportunities in the marine, power generation and water management markets.
The company now seeks to appoint a Technical Director who will contribute fully at Board level to developing these plans and who will provide key input in directing new product development and who will budget and manage existing engineering, manufacturing and technical resources effectively and efficiently within the disciplines of well-defined quality management systems. He will also investigate new manufacturing technologies and use of new alternative materials for new and existing product lines.
Experience in CAD and CAD-CAM systems would be an advantage and we would expect our selected candidate to contribute appreciably to the further and ongoing development of our company IT infrastructure..
We anticipate the successful candidate will be a graduate engineer with some years multi-discipline technical work experience.
He will be able to demonstrate clear success in strategy planning and management and will project energy, enthusiasm and a clear ability to motivate and earn the respect of peers and subordinates.
An attractive competitive package will be offered to the right candidate as well as the opportunity to have a key role in a progressive company working in a fast- moving stimulating market environment offering unlimited growth opportunities for the foreseeable future.
