This course is specifically intended for valve and actuator manufacturers who are being asked to supply products with a Safety Integrity Level (SIL) capability.
SILs are often requested now for fluid control systems, but what are they and how do they affect the design and manufacture of devices such as valves and actuators that are performing critical functions? How does a product supplier help a system builder meet their needs for achieving SIL targets?
Attendees will be made fully aware of what is required when making a “SIL capability” claim for their product(s) and will leave knowing precisely what SIL related analyses, documentation and safety assurance methods are required.
Who Should Attend
The course is aimed at all those who are involved in the design and specification of valves, actuators and related accessories, such as design engineers, reliability and quality engineers, technical managers and product applications specialists.
Paul Reeve is a Chartered Engineer and a registered functional safety engineer (with the Institute of Measurement & Control). Paul has over 20 years’ experience of delivering training, consultancy and independent assessments in the field of “functional safety” and SILs for clients around the world.
